EPI Promotes Mark Nichols to Director of Operations

SOUTH BEND, IND. – Elkhart Plastics, Inc. (EPI) is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Nichols. His role as Director of Operations – Middlebury Plant has been expanded to include the company’s Elkhart and South Bend facilities.

In his new role, Nichols will work with plant managers at the company’s three Indiana locations to ensure quality, growth, and overall success. He will also continue in his role as Director of Quality, which has also been expanded to include all sites.

Nichols has worked for EPI since May 2016. Over the past four years, he has held several roles including Quality Manager, Director of Quality for the Midwest, and Direct of Operations – Middlebury Plant. He has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing.

“Mark has made significant contributions to the company both in the quality department and at the Middlebury location,” Jack Welter, CEO of EPI, says. “His knowledge and experience will continue to be a great asset to our Indiana facilities.”

“We have a wealth of talent and great people here at EPI,” Nichols says. “With quality in mind, my plan is to help the organization focus on strengthening our approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.  I’m also planning to focus on identifying and sharing improvement successes in manufacturing.  I hope I can be a helpful resource for the Indiana plants and the company as a whole.”

Outside of work, Nichols enjoys waterskiing and wakeboarding and all things Jeep including off-roading, rock crawling, and custom fabrication.
