Elkhart Plastics – Leading Rotational Molder Celebrates 25 Years of Rotomolding

Middlebury, IN. – Elkhart Plastics hosted a lunch for all employees at their Middlebury plant to celebrate the organization’s 25th year of rotational molding. Celebrations will be held at each of the five plant locations during the week.

Elkhart Plastics was founded to serve the RV tank market in a small building in Elkhart, IN in 1988. Due to space constraints, The Company relocated to a 25,000 sq ft facility in Middlebury in 1991. Today, this plant has grown to over 200,000 square feet and houses 40% of the companies’ workforce. Elkhart Plastics, Inc moved their corporate headquarters to South Bend, Indiana in 2006. This facility was expanded to handle more production earlier in 2013.

“Our respected position in the rotational molding industry didn’t happen overnight,” said Welter. “We leveraged our application engineering and manufacturing technologies acquired over decades in the RV and marine industries into the heavy truck and commercial construction equipment markets.”

“The only limiting factor to celebrating another 25 years is people,” said Jack Welter, CEO, Elkhart Plastics, Inc. “We need to add to our immensely talented workforce so we can deliver the products and services our customers are demanding.”

Elkhart Plastics, Inc. employs over 550 employees at their five plants across the United States. Collectively they offer their customers over 600,000 square feet of manufacturing capabilities utilizing 42 rotational molding machines and 9 CNC trimming stations. Delivering superior customer service has contributed to their 25 years of success.
